Next Steps: Moving to West Asheville
Next steps into a new season.
I have moved from my little room in downtown Marshall to West Asheville, North Carolina. For the first time in my adult life, I am living in a stand-alone home that doesn’t belong to my parents.
I’m sharing my rented nest with my boyfriend, Brian. It feels odd to share something so personal here, so instead of going into details, I’ll just say that I am happy and excited to see how the rest of our lives unfold. I hope it happens slowly, and I can enjoy and examine every critical moment of it.
Our home is right between the main drag of West Asheville and the River Arts District. It’s a beautiful neighborhood, rough around the edges, just as I like it. Painted houses with planted yards and side streets like tunnels with overhanging trees and few street lights.
