Contemporary vanitas still life oil painting by Philadelphia, PA artist Elizabeth Virginia Levesque. Instead of the typical skull found in vanitas or momento mori paintings is a young girls head. It rests on the table like a still life object. She is clearly alive. Short blonde hair frames her pale face. She is wearing dark purple lipstick and looks like she may speak. A plastic Ouija Board planchette rest against the front of her face. Part of her face and eye can be seen through the planchette's hole. She is half in the shadows and half lit brightly. Small pearls and paper fortune tellers are scattered around her. Small triangles float through the air like dust in a mote of light.
